Ukraine seeks the seizure of a grain ship flying the Russian flag off Turkey.

Ukraine has demanded the seizure of a ship transporting grain from a region of the nation that is under Russian occupation.

The ship is currently at anchor off the coast of Turkey.

The Zhibek Zholy, a ship flying the Russian flag, was observed as it travelled from the Turkish port of Karasu to the Ukrainian port of Berdyansk.

Although it is unclear how or from where its cargo was obtained, Russia has been accused of stealing grain from parts of Ukraine that are under its control. Russia denies these accusations.

On the Sea of Azov in southern Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region in Berdyansk.

On the social media app Telegram, Yevhen Balytskyi, who was recently appointed by Russia as governor of the occupied districts of Zaporizhzhia, shared information about the ship’s departure from Berdyansk.

7,000 tonnes of grain, according to Mr Balytskyi, would be transferred to “friendly” nations.

The references to the ship’s contents and final destination were later removed when he revised the post.

Several pro-Kremlin Telegram channels have uploaded a video news report about the ship’s departure that shows it beside a Russian naval ship in a port that the reporter named Berdyansk.

By comparing it to satellite images of the port, we were able to determine that the video was shot in Berdyansk.

The video appears to have been shot on the morning of June 28 based on the weather at the time and the angle of the shadows along the waterfront.

On June 29, while it was returning to the south and away from the Ukrainian coast, the signal suddenly resurfaced. This tracker also provided the ship’s depth in the sea, and it showed that the ship had loaded up with cargo.

It’s unclear whether the ship plans to discharge its cargo in the Turkish port of Karasu or carry on to an unspecified location farther south through the Bosphorus Strait.

The Zhibek Zholy’s registered owner, a Kazakh firm by the name of KTZ Express, has informed the news agency Reuters that a Russian company has rented the ship. It also stated that it was in consultation with all stakeholders and would abide by any consequences or limitations.
