Cristiano Ronaldo is poised to participate in his 11th major international tournament, having secured a spot in the Portugal squad for Euro 2024. The 39-year-old Al-Nassr forward holds the record for the most international appearances, with 206 caps and 128 goals for Portugal.
Portugal manager Roberto Martinez has included Ronaldo among seven forwards in his 26-man squad for the upcoming tournament in Germany. Martinez praised Ronaldo’s goal-scoring prowess, emphasizing its importance to the team.
Ronaldo made his tournament debut at Euro 2004, where Portugal reached the final but lost to Greece. He clinched his only major international trophy with Portugal at Euro 2016 and also secured victory in the Nations League in 2018–19.
Martinez’s squad boasts nine players from Premier League clubs, including notable names like Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, and Ruben Dias. The roster also features a mix of experienced players like 41-year-old defender Pepe and rising talents like 21-year-old winger Francisco Conceicao.
Portugal will kick off their Euro 2024 campaign against Czech Republic on June 18, followed by matches against Turkey and Georgia.
