4 Rare white lions born in Nantong Forest Safari Park in eastern China. The one-month white lion quadruplets were born on November 6, 2020. The white baby lions will soon make their first public appearance on Saturday in a Chinese zoo.
All the white cubs are male. The pictures of the lions playing with each other and posing for the cameras has been circulated widely.
The quadruplets are pampered and taken care of by the zookeepers. The white lion is a very rare species so 4 cubs are good news. The zookeepers said that they take good care of the baby lions and they are growing fast, strong, and healthy. They were bathed on Monday for the first time to prepare them to meet the tourists.
The white lions belong to Africa and they are different from the Albino lion’s. Their color is not a threat to their survival it is because of a recessive mutation. Only 13 white lions are left in the wild and many are under captivity, Global White Lion Protection Trust reports.
This rare species is considered vulnerable by the IUCN Red List.
White lions are still not considered as a different species they are considered under the lion’s category, Panthera Leo.
