The Health Minister of Belgium, Frank Vandenbroucke said Belgium is close to facing a “tsunami” of coronavirus cases. According to the health authorities, Belgium has faced the most adverse effects due to COVID-19 in all of Europe.
An average of 7876 new infections a day have been reported in the past week. As daily cases keep rising, new measures are being taken to lessen social interactions. Only one “close contact” outside a household is allowed.
All the bars and restaurants will be closed and a curfew will be imposed from midnight until 5:00 am, at least for a month in Belgium. People must protect themselves and their loved ones by limiting the number of contacts, Frank Vandenbroucke said.
