Duran Duran Announced as Headliner for the 2024 Latitude Festival

Iconic rock band Duran Duran has exciting news for their fans, as they have been revealed as the first headliner for the Latitude Festival in Suffolk for the summer of 2024. This will mark their only UK performance next summer, and fans are eager to see the legendary group take the stage.

The announcement was made by festival director Melvin Benn, who expressed his enthusiasm for having Duran Duran as part of the Latitude Festival. He mentioned that the band’s “mesmerising performances make them an ideal fit” for the event.

Duran Duran’s bassist, John Taylor, shared his excitement about this upcoming performance, emphasising the festival’s significance. He stated, “It’s a great festival, and it’s been a long time since Duran has been in that part of the country.” In fact, this will be their first-ever performance in Suffolk.

The band, which was formed in 1978 at Birmingham’s renowned Rum Runner nightclub, has achieved immense success over the years. They’ve sold more than 100 million albums, with their latest release, the gothic-inspired album “Danse Macabre,” even reaching the top five on the UK charts.

Mr. Benn acknowledged Duran Duran’s innovative approach to music, which aligns perfectly with the values of the Latitude Festival. He believes that their fusion of artistry and innovation resonates with the festival’s commitment to creating a diverse cultural experience.

Duran Duran has had a busy year with numerous live shows, including sold-out arena gigs across the UK, Ireland, North America, and Canada. In 2022, they received one of the music industry’s highest honours by being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The group’s memorable performances over the years include appearing at the Queen’s Jubilee Concert, closing the Commonwealth Games in their hometown of Birmingham, and playing sold-out shows at prestigious venues like New York’s Madison Square Garden and the Hollywood Bowl.

Festival organisers have promised that the next lineup announcement will be made before the end of the year, building anticipation for an exciting 2024 Latitude Festival featuring Duran Duran as the headliners.
