Dr. Shashank Jeetendra Trivedi is a Consultant General Surgeon currently practicing at GBH American Hospital, Udaipur, Rajasthan. Originally from Ahmedabad, he has developed expertise in robotic, bariatric, and laparoscopic surgery.
With over 13 years of medical experience, Dr. Trivedi holds a diploma in Healthcare Management and Medico-Legal Systems from Symbiosis University. He is widely recognized for his precision in complex surgical procedures as well as his holistic and compassionate approach to patient care.
He has been part of a surgical team that set a record for performing the highest number of bariatric procedures in a single day. Additionally, he successfully performed a rare endoscopic removal of a 20 cm toothbrush—one of the very few documented cases worldwide.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Trivedi served in rural Saurashtra (Gir-Somnath), Gujarat, where he provided advanced laparoscopic surgical care in areas with limited access to such facilities. Despite being trained in metropolitan settings, this experience reinforced his belief that high-quality healthcare should not be limited to urban centers. His work has inspired young surgeons to bridge the urban–rural healthcare divide.
Trained in robotic and minimally invasive techniques, his expertise spans general and bariatric surgery, including complex gastrointestinal, biliary, anorectal procedures, hernia repairs, and organ removal surgeries. He combines meticulous pre-operative planning with advanced surgical techniques, ensuring faster recovery and better healing outcomes for patients.
Dr. Trivedi is known among patients and peers for his focus on accurate diagnosis, clinical excellence, and empathy. His commitment to high personal ethics complements his professional expertise, making him a highly sought-after surgeon.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Trivedi maintains a deep connection with nature. An avid trekker, he frequently explores the Aravalli ranges and has completed expeditions in Yosemite National Park, El Yunque Rainforest, and snow-covered mountain terrains. He is also a certified open-water scuba diver. These experiences, according to him, have helped him remain calm under pressure and maintain intense focus during surgeries.
He also nurtures an artistic side through pottery and handicrafts, reflecting a balanced personality that blends science with creativity.
Healing, for Dr. Trivedi, is deeply rooted in his family’s traditions of social service and animal welfare. His family in Rajkot, Gujarat, actively contributes to community welfare by providing free ambulance services and medical equipment. Recently, they have established ‘Hari-Om Animal Care’ and ‘Maa Sharda Gaushala’ in Ratanpar, Rajkot, initiatives managed by his parents and sister, reflecting their commitment to caring for all living beings.
Dr. Trivedi actively participates in outreach programs, medical camps, and hospital partnerships, particularly focusing on underserved and rural communities.
His life and work exemplify the harmonious coexistence of personal fulfillment and a deep commitment to societal service.
