Renowned actor Brian Cox, aged 77, revealed he declined an invitation to participate in Strictly Come Dancing, expressing reservations about his age and the perceived comedic element of the show. The Succession star, known for his role as Logan Roy, shared on BBC One’s Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg that, despite his enjoyment of dancing, he hesitated to embrace the strict experience.
In the interview, Cox disclosed, “I’ve actually been asked to be on it,” but explained his decision to decline, stating, “I like dancing; don’t get me wrong… I just don’t know why, but I always see that there’s a sort of joke element in it.” Concerned about the potential comedic portrayal and elimination aspect, he added, “I don’t know if I want to go down that road,” emphasising that he might be getting too old for such endeavors.
