China rekindles international relations to improve its reputation: Report

According to The Hong Kong Post (HKP), Chinese President Xi Jinping sought to rekindle dialogue with foreign leaders after winning the third term at the communist party’s 20th congress.

Scholz made a brief visit to China to advocate for improved commercial relations between the two nations. China said in a statement during his visit that Xi believed using nuclear force would be “the world community said in a statement during his visit that Xi believed using nuclear force would be “the world community stepping over a line.”

Xi Jinping met with numerous leaders at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in September. His trip there was his first overseas trip since the pandemic started. The trip demonstrated the value Xi placed on his trips to Central Asia. According to HKP, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are China’s cordial neighbours, all-encompassing strategic allies, and significant BRI participants.

This gathering commonly referred to as the SDG Summit, will be the second since the 2030 Agenda was adopted.

HKP claimed that despite China’s continued application of the strict policy, the communist party appeared to have chosen to loosen restrictions to permit diplomatic visits to Beijing.

According to HKP citing CNN, Steve Tsang, director of the SOAS China Institute at the University of London, said that the Chinese President has made it plain that the major problems China will confront are a less favourable international climate, and it is an area that China must combat.

Xi “finds himself operating in a very different world from the last time he was playing regular host or attending summits like the G20 or the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leaders’ summit, both of which convene later this month and which he is expected to attend, though,” according to HKP citing a CNN report. Xi’s foreign affairs priorities in the weeks and months ahead will likely continue to focus on strengthening relationships with friendly nations, experts say.
