In the dynamic field of artificial intelligence, Guda Ramchandra Kaladhara Sarma, widely known as GudaRam, emerges as a pioneering leader and innovator. Currently, he holds the positions of Director of Enterprise AI and Head of AI Core CoE at LTIMindtree (Generative AI) in India. With over 15 years of industry experience, Ram has established himself as a key figure in the AI/ML/DL domain, renowned for his expertise in developing AI solutions, practices, and teams.

Ram’s contributions to AI are both significant and transformative. He holds a patent for an innovative system titled “Method and System for Detecting Missing Surgical Instruments.” This system uses advanced AI algorithms to ensure no surgical instruments are left behind during medical procedures, enhancing patient safety and operational efficiency in healthcare. This patent exemplifies Ram’s dedication to applying AI for tangible, positive impacts in critical industries.

In addition to his patent, Ram’s scholarly work is highly esteemed. He has published over 25 technical research white papers in prestigious journals like IEEE and Springer, cementing his reputation in artificial intelligence and advanced computing. He has also delivered more than 10 global AI keynotes and speaker sessions at renowned AI summits, including the NVIDIA GTC AI conference and Intel AI Summit.

Ram’s professional journey includes leadership roles at some of the world’s leading technology firms. At HCLTech, he initiated the AI Lab and led the Centers of Excellence (CoEs) for Generative AI and Responsible AI (RAI) practices. He designed multiple reusable solution accelerators, such as TrustifAI, UnboxAI, and Dyna.MLop/LLMOps frameworks. As the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for HCL’s LLMOps framework and Responsible AI services, he showcased his deep expertise in generative AI service offerings, including LLMs finetuning, multimodal LLMs, AGIs, and custom LLMs at global events.

An articulate communicator, Ram excels at aligning vision, developing architectures, creating roadmaps, and executing to deliver real AI solutions. His deep learning implementation experience spans EDGE devices like Jetson TX1/TX2 and FPGA (Xilinx MPSoC ZCU102 Evaluation Board) with TensorRT and cuDNN, as well as cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Ram’s exceptional contributions have been recognized through numerous honours and awards. He has received the O4 Infinity – Achiever League Award from HCL Technologies for four consecutive years, most recently in March 2024. 

He was also honoured with the Engineering R&D Champion Award in June 2019 and the Best Innovation Award for Deep Learning Research in November 2018, both from HCL Technologies. His earlier accolades include the Delivery Star Award from Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd in January 2016 and the JEM Award from Analytical Information Management in August 2015.
