Royal Family Indicates Harry and Meghan Depend on King Charles

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly received a stark message, being told that they “need King Charles more than he needs them.” This advice comes in the wake of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex declining an invitation to Sandringham by the royal family. While the couple officially stepped back from their roles as working royals in 2020, their relationship with the royal family has continued to strain, marked by public claims and disclosures in various media.

The latest development includes the release of royal author Omid Scobie’s book, “Endgame,” which contains further allegations against the monarchy. However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have maintained silence on any potential involvement in Scobie’s book. King Charles, in his Christmas message, notably omitted any mention of his son and Meghan Markle, instead choosing to praise the “selfless army” of volunteers, describing them as the “essential backbone of our society.”

Despite the holiday season traditionally being a time for family reunions, King Charles did not extend any explicit olive branch to reconcile with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. In a statement, he emphasised the importance of Christmas as “a chance for family and friends to come together across generations.”

Royal author Ingrid Seward offered insights into the ongoing rift, expressing her belief that the estrangement would likely persist into the next year. She pointed to Prince Harry’s explicit conditions for returning to the UK, emphasising his demand for a level of protection. Seward added, “Most of his court cases are ongoing, but in particular with the Home Office, he’s really put his foot down on this.”

Seward also revealed that last summer, King Charles extended an invitation to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to visit Balmoral, an invitation that the couple declined. Seward emphasised the asymmetry in the current dynamic, stating, “Meghan and Harry need the King and his blessing far more than the King needs them, sadly, so I feel we will be seeing them. We’ll certainly be seeing Harry because he’s got to reappear for some court cases.”

This insight suggests that, despite existing tensions, the royal family recognises the significance of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s connection to King Charles and anticipates some form of re-engagement in the future.
