Amitabh Kant, the G20 Sherpa for India, remarked that the G20 offers a fantastic opportunity to help the globe in these difficult times.
The G20, or Group of 20, is an intergovernmental gathering of the top developed and emerging economies in the globe. India will succeed Indonesia as chairman of the powerful alliance on December 1, taking over from Indonesia.
During an event hosted by the industrial chamber PHDCCI, Kant stated that the G20 offers a fantastic opportunity to help the globe in difficult times and put it back on the path to peace and prosperity.
He emphasised that the G20 is the ideal mix of developed and developing countries, and that the fact that Indonesia is currently in the position of holding the G20 presidency, handing the reins to India in December and then to Brazil after that, shows that emerging markets will play a significant role in the G20 Presidency.
Saket Dalmia, president of the PHDCCI, stated that the G20 Presidency is a pivotal time for India and that the industrial chamber would like to help the government carry out its G20 program.
Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union are all members of the G20 (EU).
Bali will host the G20 summit on November 15 and 16.
With over 75% of worldwide trade, 85% of the global GDP, and around two-thirds of the world’s population represented, the G20 is the foremost forum for global economic cooperation.
